Registration Procedures
How do I register my children for swimming lessons? Review the schedule to determine which class is suitable to you. Complete the Registration Form (see various formats above) and either e-mail it to our office (as an attachment) or hand it into our office in person starting at 7:30am on the first day of registration. Handed-in registrations will be processed in conjunction with those received via email. Registrations submitted the week prior to the first day of registration will not be processed until after 2:00pm on that day. All registrations are processed in the order they have been received. All registration forms must include payment with either cheque attached, or a valid VISA or Mastercard number including expiry date. Your registration form cannot be processed without payment, however, if you do not wish to include credit card information on a registration form sent via email, please telephone our office the week prior to registration and provide this information verbally over the phone. As the first day of registration is extremely busy - we cannot attempt to contact you to get credit card information. Please provide 2 choices of classes - if you are unable to give 2 choices - complete the "Note" re availability.
How will I know which class I have been registered in? A Confirmation and Child Tax Credit Receipt for tax purposes will be mailed once your form has been processed. (If we cannot process your registration form as completed - we will contact you via telephone to offer another class.) Due to the high volume of calls we receive during the first week of registration, we may not be able to return calls regarding which class your child has been registered in on a timely basis. Thank you for your understanding.
What if I don't have access to a computer or don't know how to email? If you have concerns about completing and sending a registration form via email - feel free to send a "test" email (put Test in the subject line) - or call our office and we will walk you through it over the phone. "Test" emails should be sent well in advance of the registration day so we know your registration form has been completed correctly. You may submit your completed registration form in person on Saturday, August 21st, beginning at 7:30am (however, registration forms received first via email will be processed first).
What if I cannot send an email or submit my form in person? You may submit your completed registration form at any time prior to Satuday, August 21st, however, these forms will not be processed until after 2:00pm on that day.
What if my child is swimming in Session 4 of the Summer Program - how do I know what level to register in? Speak to your child's instructor or the Supervisor to determine what level is appropirate for the Fall Program.
What if my child has never swam with Lynne Patch Aquatics? Please call our office directly. It may be possible to evaluate the appropriate level for your child over the phone. If this is not possible, we will arrange to do an in-water evaluation. There is no fee for this evaluation.
Why is registration via email and not "on-line" or in person? Prior to 2009, we held registration mostly in person. Some of our clients have expressed that scheduling a "line-up" day has proven inconvenient and somewhat stressful. Many have asked why we don't have "on-line" registration, similar to that used by the City. The reason is - our schedule as originally posted often changes with the demand for certain levels. Therefore, please complete your form with three choices. It is also important to tell us when you are available and are not available to bring your child for lessons. This way, if the class you have chosen is full (or is cancelled due to lack of enrollment) - we will do our best to find another time or day that fits into your daily schedule.
NOTE RE AQUA 1 - must be 3 years of age by October 1st, 2010 - no exceptions.
NOTE RE 3 YEAR OLD AQUA 2 OR 3 - If your 3 year old child has not participated in lessons for six months or more (since September 2009 or prior), and is registering for Aqua 2 or 3, there is some concern that their once acquired skills have regressed. Please call the office as soon as possible to arrange for an evaluation. This only applies to three year old children registering for Aqua 2 or Aqua 3 and have not swam for a considerable length of time.
